There are two types of cotyledon i. e. Monocotyledonous (monocot) and Dicotyledonous (dicot). In monocot, only one cotyledon is present while in dicot two cotyledons are found. Veins in leaves of monocot are parallel to each other and they have adventitious roots system while in dicot, network of veins are present in leaves and they have tap root system.
