how does urbanization change traditional cultural practices

It allows for specialization of labor, so once a society starts urbanizing, not everyone in it has to farm and harvest crops. So urbanization is responsible for the art of many cultures like the pottery of Babylonia. That wouldn’t have been possible without urbanization.
