The rate of change is the same thing as slope. So you would do the same thing as you would for slope.

Ex. you have two coordinate points. (4,4) (5,9)

y2 would be 9

y1 would be 4

x2 would be 5

x1 would be 4

so you would do 9-4=5

then 5-4=1

So your rate of change/slope would be 5/1 or 5
