Use the order of operations to solve the following problem: 2+40 divided by (3-5)

[tex] 2 + 40 \div (3 - 5) = [/tex]

First, do the parentheses.

[tex] = 2 + 40 \div (-2) [/tex]

Now do the division.

[tex] = 2 + (-20) [/tex]

Finally, do the addition.

[tex] = -18 [/tex]
